Developer Time & Place has partnered with the Buxton family-backed Corsair Investment Management to snag the largest – and final – lot at the old Alphington paper mill site.

The partnership has plans to deliver a $500 million build-to-rent (BTR) project on the site that will comprise ‘community-centric’ retail, commercial, and co-working space and approximately 600 BTR apartments – including 150 affordable housing units.

Hickory will be involved in the build, which is estimated to take some 2.5 years. The City of Yarra Council has approved the project.

The Alphington project is the latest in a string of BTR projects to hit Melbourne, including i2C’s Fieldworks House in Oakleigh, Hines’ Bank Street project in South Melbourne and Samma Property Group’s Lorimer Street development.
