The gateway to Victoria’s iconic Great Ocean Road will be transformed following the appointment of Grimshaw and ASPECT Studios to the Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre project.
Working in collaboration with Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation and the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority, the design duo will reimagine the visitor centre to include:
- An upgraded viewing platform
- Safer beach access at Gibson Steps
- New access roads
- Expanded parking areas
- Accessible community facilities
The project is part of the $108.15 million Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment.
The collaborative approach will ensure that Eastern Maar culture remains at the forefront of the redevelopment.
The Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment is part of the $500 million Geelong City Deal – a collaborative plan by the federal, state and local government to transform Geelong and the Great Ocean Road.
