AMP Capital Investors has selected McCorkell Constructions to deliver the Street Heritage Façade Remediation Project at 425 Collins.

The project scope includes conservation and restoration works to the building’s façade, as well as service upgrades to the exterior and interior – including lobby upgrades and a new façade lighting system.

The AMP building was originally constructed between 1929 and 1931, and is one of the great commercial buildings constructed in Melbourne between WW1 and WW2. Its architecture is symbolic of the Renaissance revival style of the 1920s.

It was originally built to house AMP’s Melbourne operations but was then sold to other parties. AMP bought the building in 2015 from Indonesia’s Halim family for a reported $39 million.
