Victorians are one step closer to accessing world-class cancer care following the topping out of the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre.

Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas visited the site this week, saying, ‘We’re proud to be supporting this landmark project that will put comprehensive and convenient care, with all the support patients need available under one roof.’

The striking new building is designed to resemble a skin graft, which is a common treatment used for skin cancers.

It features gold-standard facilities including research laboratories, day oncology services, consulting suites, procedural spaces, multidisciplinary meeting rooms, a clinical trials centre, offices for staff, clinical imaging, a wellness centre, wellness gardens, and two levels of basement car parking.

The project’s total value is $152 million, with the build itself worth an estimated $92 million. Kane Constructions is the appointed builder, with Johnstaff as the consulting project management firm.
